The Science of Stress: a movement perspective for your teaching, yourself and your business. A workshop for movement professionals and motivated movers interested in a deeper understanding of movement, stress and health.
This workshop is designed for movement professionals and motivated movers interested in a deeper understanding of movement, stress and health.
In this workshop we will:
» Explore what recent scientific research says about stress, exercise and movement
» Use coaching strategies to make the content real and immediately actionable for yourself, your clients and your business (if applicable).
» Provide lots of movement instruction taught in a way that will help you present and understand movement in the context of stress
» Take some of our learning outdoors to explore some natural movement
You will come away with
» Key scientific information that you can present easily in your own movement classes
» A series of studio-based movement practices designed around specific issues of ageing
» An individual action plan incorporating what you have learned into your business and your day-to-day life
» Handouts! We all know how hard it is to remember everything so we will provide handouts for the science, worksheets for the coaching and movement sequences.
Workshop format
This workshop will be held over a Friday and Saturday with approximately half the time spent in movement classes and the remainder split between science education, discussions and coaching. At least part of each day will be spent each day outside in the beautiful city parks of Edinburgh.
